  • Overview

    The Eye Care Leader’s department of IT, Compliance & Security Operations is seeking a candidate who will serve as a System Administrator for IT Operations. You will be responsible for providing Systems Administrator support across functional teams within ECL. The System Administrator must have a strong technical background and wide-spread hands-on working experience supporting IT programs. The candidate will need to be able to analyze, troubleshoot and resolve a wide variety of technical issues both professionally and efficiently, therefore, the candidate must possess sufficient knowledge of various network platforms including (but not limited to) Windows, MS Office and Linux.


    The System Administrator will work within the IT, Compliance and Security Operations division of ECL and report to the VP of Global IT Operations.


    • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science or an equivalent field  
    • 2 to 5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator 
    • Must have solid understanding of Windows, Linux, MS Office & Networking.  
    • Must have hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installations.
    • Must have experience troubleshooting and resolving a wide-variety of system issues.
    • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
    • Exceptional customer service skills.
    • Ability to prioritize while working in a fast-paced environment.
    • Must stay abrest of the latest technological practices and standards.
    • Ability to adapt to a fast-moving IT landscape and keep pace with latest thinking and new security technologies.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Previous experience in IT, compliance and/or security.
    • System/Network certifications
    • Expertise in enterprise-level email systems


    • Provide day-to-day technical support and issue-resolution for user work-stations and issues within IT Operations.
    • Maintain ECL’s organizational workflow by administering superior application, software and hardware support.
    • Responsible for the administration, setting-up and maintenance of servers and workstations.
    • Act as an expert for network system escalated incidents.
    • Responsible for installing, supporting and monitoring computer system applications.
    • Responsible for diagnosing/troubleshooting and resolving system escalations on a issue-by-issue basis.
    • Responsible for identifying system inefficiencies and providing resolutions.
    • Responsible for driving continual service improvements in order to resolve ongoing network issues.
    • Provide orientation and training to team for all modified and upgraded systems.
    • Manage user accounts, permissions and access rights and provide security level permissions in accordance with best practices.
    • Create, maintain and upgrade documentation in regard to the implementation of new technologies.
    • Provide system monitoring support on a daily basis.
